Feeling Like A Spare Part!
May 07 | 09by:Mike Brewer It’s been another tough week! More cars to buy, more late night filming and more workshop woes! Both me and Edd are really getting tired with the amount of jobs that are pilling up in the workshop...
We have been getting wrong parts sent and I’ve had to resort to hitting the road to get what we need. This week I visited a spares centre in the Midlands that are doing a roaring business even in these hard times.
David Manning Spares are ‘Bucking the Trend’ and the proprietor reckons it's all down to the recession. Why sell your pride and joy when a new part or a decent service can give it a new lease of life? And that’s where David steps in.
The company employs about 20 people running around grabbing parts off the shelf to post to all corners of the world. What’s strange is that the most modern parts he sells are for the little Mazda MX5, most parts are for the MG range of cars or the original Mini.
So, before you jump on the Government Scrappage scheme take a second look at your banger and think that maybe, it might be worth keeping it on the road. Everybody else seems to be doing it!

It would be very easy to jump on the gov scrappy scheme just coz your old motor needing a few quid spent on it ,But you need to fork out a few grand on some euro box to take advantage of the Scheme and who wants one of those , i have a Mk4 gold 1998 gti turbo with 115k and its going nowhere Gordon Brown !

I a gree I just bought a Audi quattro and there is no way I would sell it, well once I finish restoring it, keep up the good work mike and edd. How many cars does edd work on at a time?
