Wax on – Wax off: Buffing Your Car To a Perfect Finish

April 16 | 09by:Danielle McCormick

Bubbles How to Wax Your Car Like a Pro

I imagine the majority of people think that giving your car just a scrub is enough. But waxing is what preserves the coat and keeps it looking new longer. Your poor little car is exposed to a lot of elements out there – car fumes, acid rain, smog, suicidal insects…wax keeps these things away from your beautiful car’s coat.

As wax locks things in, it should only be applied to a clean surface so ideally it should be done straight after it's been washed and dried.

Wax should be applied sparingly so it is best to apply a small amount with your fingers - or proper application pad if you are fancy. With a cloth, rub the wax on in a linear motion – ideally in the direction that air moves along your car. Cover all the car’s surfaces until you see a light haze.

Make me Buff

When the whole car has a light sheen of wax all over it, grab your 100% cotton cloths and polish to your heart's content. When you have finished, it is a good idea to take a quick recce around the car and make sure you haven’t missed any bits.

Finally, stand back, fold your arms and admire your good work!
