The Geneva Motor Show, Mitsubishi and Those French Motorways

This blog is coming from the ski slopes of the French Alps. Because of my busy Wheeler Dealers filming schedule I have come to report on the Geneva Motor Show a couple of days early so I can grab some time on the planks.
This is an annual pilgrimage that I’ve been doing for years; I drive down to Geneva with some friends from Mitsubishi. It takes about 12 hours to get down here and the experience on the French motorways puts our roads to shame.
First of all they are everywhere, criss-crossing the country like a spider’s web, secondly you barely ever see roadworks, the motorways always seem to be well maintained, then there’s the service stations! Most would put high street restaurants in the UK to shame. And you know my views on British service stations.
I stopped for fuel and ate Steak Frites with salad that even Gordon Ramsay would have been proud to cook, all served with a smile, and a bill of only seven Euros. The journey becomes painless when you are treated like this and I think a lot better than queuing for an airplane.
Needless to say I made it down here safe with a full belly! I’ll send some blogs from the show and tell you what’s really happening with the car industry and blog on what’s hot and what’s not. There's always a few surprises from the Geneva Motor Show.
